The name of this prestigious wine, Cuvée Marie-Louise, serves as an homage to the grandmother of the current winemakers. She played a very important role in the success of the winery. This wine is a noble one, characterized by a zesty spiciness tempered with a gentle roundness of tannin.
“WELL BALANCED, THE CUVÉE MARIE-LOUISE OF THE DOMAINE DES GRAVENNES SETS ITSELF APART THROUGH ITS FRESH AND OPULENT QUALITIES. IT IS A BOTTLE THAT YOU WILL WANT TO SHARE WITH A LOVED ONE.”
Bernard Neveu, Head Sommelier of Bristol Palace - Restaurant Épicure (3 Michelin stars)

Meet the winemakers!
The Domaine des Gravennes is run by two brothers. Luc entered into the family business in 2011 after garnering experience in the wine world across 4 different continents. Rémi decided to quit his job as an engineer to rejoin his brother shortly thereafter. Right next to the beautiful Château of Suze-la-Rousse, the two brothers have continued the family tradition of running a winery that is both organic and biodynamic. This tradition was born with their grandparents. Fair warning: they are such great hosts that no one ever wants to leave when they visit.
History of your parcel
The parcel is named for the year that it was planted. Not far from the winery, the vines face the stream that marks the edge of the vineyard. Here we find old-vine Grenache planted on a gravely soil so typical of the location: Les Gravennes. Your vine plantings have an average age of 45 years. It is them that give the Cuvée Marie-Louise its intoxicating spiciness.
